Exynos 4 Quad - officially debuts quad-, 1.4-gigahertz processor

Although the recent leaks suggested that "the Next Galaxy" will be fitted with only dual-core processor, and now everything is clear.

Samsung officially announced the quad-core system Exynos 4 Quad, which is to be driven by the Korean manufacturer's latest smartphone, known for now as the "Next Galaxy". System system-on-a-chip will be built on four Cortex-A9 cores, clocked at 1.4 GHz. Due to lower process technology and newer technology, High-k Metal Gate, the new processor will be twice more efficient than dual-core Exynos units, and at the same time is to collect as much as 20 percent less energy.

The first device that uses the power latent in the new processor Exynos 4 Quad S is the successor to Galaxy II.
